What is RYA Powerboat Level 2?
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is a 2-day practical course designed to teach you how to safely operate a powerboat. There’s no exam — you’re assessed throughout the course. 
By the end, you’ll be able to:
• Drive at both slow and planing speeds
• Confidently dock and manoeuvre in tight spaces
• Handle emergency situations like man overboard
• Understand basic navigation, safety, and collision rules
This qualification allows you to helm a powerboat up to 10m and can be used to apply for an ICC (International Certificate of Competence).* Should you meet criteria

This course is ideal if you are:
• A complete beginner with no boating experience
• A boat owner wanting confidence handling a vessel

Minimum age: 12 years (under 18s must be accompanied by guardian on same course).
